Sail to Heal, with the sponsorship support of the Long Island Chapter of the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) are co-hosting a special Sailing & Painting Retreat for suicide loss survivors who have participated in the AFSP Long Island's Survivor Day and Paint to Heal's expressive art workshops. This half-day event is a wonderful opportunity to combine the tranquility of sailing on New York Harbor with the creative release of watercolor painting.
On Sunday, June 30th, participants will gather at the South Street Seaport in NYC for a meet and greet from 11:00 to 11:45 AM. Then, from noon to 3:00 PM, you'll set sail on the historic tall ship, The Pioneer, on the harbor, enjoying the beauty of the city skyline. During this time, you'll also have a guided watercolor painting session led by art instructors. No prior painting experience is necessary! Lunch will be provided on board the boat. Spots for this retreat are limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The fee is $30 and covers the cost of the sail, painting supplies, and lunch.
Eligible participants: loss survivors who have attended AFSP Survivor Day and/or prior Paint to Heal and Sail to Heal participants.
